Agreement to Terms

By creating an account, installing the browser extension, or using any part of ContinueVault (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Description of Service

ContinueVault provides AI conversation continuity tools, including:

  • A browser extension that syncs your conversations from supported AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, and Perplexity) to your personal vault
  • Encrypted personal vaults for saving and organizing your conversation history
  • Thread management and session continuity features ("continue" functionality)
  • A searchable knowledge base built from your conversation history
  • A dashboard for viewing and managing your saved data
  • Tools that let your AI search your vault and pick up where you left off

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Your Account

Registration. You must provide a valid email address and create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

Account Security. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@continuevault.com if you believe your account has been compromised.

Your Data

Ownership. You retain ownership of all conversation content synced and saved by the Service. ContinueVault does not claim ownership of your data.

License to Operate. By using the Service, you grant ContinueVault, LLC a limited, non-exclusive license to save, process, and transmit your conversation data solely for the purpose of providing the Service. This includes generating summaries and delivering context to your AI sessions.

Data Processing. Your conversations may be processed through third-party AI APIs (such as Anthropic or OpenAI) for the purpose of generating summaries and delivering context to your AI sessions. This processing occurs under our service accounts and is governed by our agreements with those providers.

Per-Account Approval. Each AI account must be individually approved by you before the extension will sync its conversations. The extension does not sync shared chats, private chats, or incognito conversations unless you explicitly enable this.

Data Portability and Deletion. You may export your data or delete your account at any time through the dashboard. Upon account deletion, all associated data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Save, transmit, or process content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable
  • Violate the terms of service of any AI platform from which conversations are synced
  • Attempt to access another user's vault or data
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to develop a competing product
  • Circumvent or interfere with the security features of the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service beyond the intended browser extension and dashboard interfaces
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without authorization

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

AI Platform Compliance

Third-Party Terms. Your use of AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, and others) is governed by each platform's own terms of service. ContinueVault is an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to any AI platform provider.

Your Responsibility. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of ContinueVault in conjunction with AI platforms complies with those platforms' terms of service. ContinueVault syncs conversation data that you have generated and have access to; however, some platforms may have restrictions on automated data syncing from their interfaces.

Intellectual Property

Service Ownership. The Service, including its software, design, documentation, and branding, is the intellectual property of ContinueVault, LLC. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as described here.

Feedback. If you provide suggestions, feature requests, or other feedback about the Service, we may use that feedback without obligation to you.

Pricing and Payment

Free and Paid Tiers. The Service is offered under free and paid subscription tiers. The features, limits, and pricing of each tier are described on our website.

Changes to Pricing. We may change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Price changes will not apply retroactively to your current billing period.

Refunds. Refund policies are described on our website at the time of purchase. Contact support@continuevault.com for billing inquiries.

Service Availability

Uptime. We strive to maintain reliable service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

Modifications. We may modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes that affect your use of the Service.

Data Preservation. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will provide at least 60 days' notice and the ability to export your data before shutdown.

Disclaimers

"As Is" Basis. THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

No Guarantee of Accuracy. Summaries and other derived content generated by the Service are produced by automated AI processing and may contain errors or omissions. You should not rely on generated content as a sole source of truth for critical decisions.

AI Platform Changes. AI platforms may change their interfaces, APIs, or terms of service at any time, which may temporarily or permanently affect the functionality of ContinueVault. We are not responsible for disruptions caused by third-party platform changes.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CONTINUEVAULT, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ContinueVault, LLC and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

By You. You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it through the dashboard or by contacting support@continuevault.com.

By Us. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service.

Effect of Termination. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. We will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Dispute Resolution

Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Informal Resolution. Before filing any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at support@continuevault.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days.

Jurisdiction. Any disputes not resolved informally shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois.

General Provisions

Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ContinueVault, LLC regarding the Service.

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.

No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our consent. We may assign our rights without restriction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
