# ContinueVault full LLM reference

ContinueVault is AI memory and conversation continuity for serious AI work.

ContinueVault saves AI chats, makes saved work searchable, and lets users continue threads across ChatGPT, Claude, and ContinueVault MCP-connected AI tools. It is not a crypto vault, password manager, seed phrase store, inheritance vault, digital asset locker, or blockchain platform.

## Domain terms

A session is one saved AI chat. A thread is a chain of chats that ContinueVault keeps connected. When a user continues a thread, the new chat joins that chain.

## What ContinueVault does

- Saves conversations from seven supported AI platforms via a browser extension: Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, and Le Chat.
- Extracts working context from saved conversations: decisions, facts, constraints, preferences, open threads, current state, and useful prior attempts.
- Makes saved work searchable across platforms and accounts.
- Lets users continue threads in ChatGPT through the ContinueVault GPT, or in Claude and other ContinueVault MCP-connected AI tools.
- Provides CLI session capture for Claude Code and Codex. CLI capture is conversation-only by default; full session capture is explicit opt-in.
- Lets users export saved data and delete sessions, threads, or their vault.

## Plans

- Free ($0/month): save, search and continue. Saved conversations do not expire and nothing is pruned. Continue Thread in any supported AI, dashboard access, export of saved data at any time, and 100 credits a month.
- Pro ($19/month): unlimited credits, plus Sync All, which brings in your complete past history from each connected account. Fair use applies: Pro is for a person and the AIs they use, not for automated loops.
- A credit is one call your AI makes to your vault: a search of your transcripts, continuing a session, a recap, bringing a file back into a chat, or a deep-research run. A call that fails is not counted. Browsing and opening sessions in the dashboard yourself never uses a credit. Credits reset on the 1st of each month.
- Downgrading from Pro to Free removes nothing. Everything already saved stays saved and searchable, and your AI has 100 credits a month from the next billing date.

## Trust and privacy

ContinueVault stores conversations in a per-user encrypted vault. Saved conversations are not used for model training. Users choose which accounts to sync, can export data at any time, and can delete individual sessions, threads, or their account data.
